I’ve got 9+ years of experience teaching all kinds of swimmers, from children to adults, including those with disabilities. With more than 15 years of competitive swimming under my belt, I have a deep understanding of the sport and a love for teaching others how to master it. In more than 2,000 lessons taught, I've seen it all - and I know how to help you overcome any obstacles you may face. With my enthusiasm and energy, I guarantee that each lesson will be fun and engaging, leaving you excited to swim again! Everyone is capable of learning how to swim. However, a number of external issues can prevent students from progressing and can make it extremely tough to learn how to swim. These include: 1. Overcrowded classes 2. Measuring progress through “levels” instead of focusing on the swimmer’s improvement 3. Drills that don’t match the swimmer's preferences and/or learning style 4. Lack of enthusiasm from the coach Adults: I guarantee new swimmers that you will come out of this lesson feeling more confident and empowered by your abilities in the water than ever before! You will learn all the secret tips and tricks that seasoned swimmers use to have perfect technique and swim longer distances. We will work to create a personalized lesson plan hand-tailored to your skills and abilities that will focus on achieving whatever GOALS you have in the pool. Endurance lesson: Swimming as a form of exercise leads to a long and healthy life. Not only that, swimming is among the best forms of exercise out there due to the fact that you move every part of the body. Whether you want to learn the proper technique or simply want a 1-hour workout plan, I will carefully create a hand-tailored lesson plan to match your skills and abilities. Swim team/competitive swim lesson: Looking to take your swimming to the next level? We will work on mastering your desired stroke in order to shave off as many seconds as humanly possible. Learning from the University of Toronto Swim team(#1 in the COUNTRY) I know all the drills and tricks used at the highest level to help you reach the peak of your swimming ability. Rehab lesson: Swimming is an amazing sport because it is extremely easy on your joints. It allows you to exercise parts of your body that have limited mobility and by moving through the water you can regain that strength. I have taught many adults with injuries including tendon tears, shoulders, knees, and stroke. I am knowledgeable in many drills and challenges to work on regaining strength and mobility after an injury.

Saved us years of trying to learn!
I wanted to invest in swimming because it's probably the only sport that if you don't know it, when you need it, you'd die. So it's probably a good skill to have. At 35 years old, I decided to prioritize it and my SO decided to overcome his fear of water (nearly drowned twice as a kid). Javier was our saviour. My friends tried to explain a concept to me for 2 hrs in a pool, I couldn't get it. Javier said 1 sentence and fixed the issue - he does this constantly! He balances feedback and encouragement that keeps you motivated. If you don't like patient, approachable and skilled instructors, look elsewhere. After about 3-4 lessons, my SO and I reached our goals and now we're looking forward to more sessions to get even better. Don't hesitate to try Javier out, he's saved us years of trying to learn unsuccessfully and really boosted our confidence too. Thanks man!! My SO and I are excited to go to the beach and go into the water for the first time together, we are really excited for this whole new world!

Superb swim instructor
My son really enjoyed the swim lessons. Day 1 with Javier was top notch. My son is novice in swimming. But with Javier, he has been learning multiple levels of swimming skills. On top of it, he is encouraging my son to continuously improve on this sport. There is never a day without a good practical advice.
